Whitmer lab postdoctoral scholar Kristen George, MPH, PhD presented her work on the Study of Health Aging in African Americans (STAR) which suggested high rates of high blood pressure and diabetes, or a combination of several factors related to heart health, among Black adolescents that appeared associated with worse late-life cognition. This important work both for understanding modifiable risk factors at an earlier age, and for understanding a diverse cohort.
