Bio

Rachel Peterson is a postdoctoral fellow in Epidemiology at UC Davis, and is part of the California Dementia Epidemiology Training Program. The overarching theme of her of her work is to better understand and address social disparities in health across the life course. As a fellow in the Whitmer Lab she is focused on using epidemiological methods to elucidate the modifiable risk factors that contribute to socioeconomic and racial disparities in cognitive aging and dementia risk. She earned a PhD in Health Behavior Health Promotion at the University of Arizona in 2019. She also holds a MPH and a MA in International Studies and has more than a decade of experience working in health promotion with diverse populations in the U.S. and internationally.
