Hilary Colbeth is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of California, Davis. She completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley and her MPH at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Colbeth's research has focused primarily on examining racial inequalities in cardiovascular disease and exposure-response models in occupational health studies. In particular, her dissertation work assessed the joint impacts of workplace environmental hazards and social exposures on racial health disparities in cardiovascular disease mortality. As part of the Whitmer Lab, Dr. Colbeth will use her experience to investigate modifiable risk factors contributing to socioeconomic and racial health disparities in cognitive aging and dementia risk and to address complex sources of bias in observational longitudinal cohorts.
