Bio

Elisa is a UC Davis alumna who graduated with a B.S. in Global Disease Biology. As a Junior Specialist, she supports the ongoing KHANDLE, LA90, STAR and US POINTER studies. Her research interests include examining the social determinants of health especially within racial and ethnic as well as sex and gender minorities. Currently, Elisa is developing two manuscripts– one exploring the prevalence of bilingualism within the KHANDLE cohort, taking into account race, ethnicity and immigration status; the other focusing on the effect of spousal loss on cognition in individuals aged 90+. In her free time, Elisa enjoys attending live music events, arts and crafts, and birdwatching.
